Sharné Lucas - Head Teacher

- Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) -

Hi, my name is Sharné. I have been teaching since 2014. My passion in working with children started before that. My background is working as a Speech-Language Therapist, as well as working/volunteering with social development programs for children with disabilities, orphanages, buddy programs for children in foster care and teaching English. My biggest passion is supporting children in finding their voice in the world. One of the many amazing aspects that I love about working at Castor Bay Infant Care Centre (CBICC) is being able to develop reciprocal relationships with both the children and their whānau, learning about who the child is, their interests/culture and what they bring to our CBICC family. I am passionate about children’s growth, development, and seeing their excitement of their successes, big and small. I’m so pleased to be part of such an amazing team who work with whānau to support our children in navigating their own journeys in this world
